I’m currently working on a major new version of the datatool package. This may take a while. Please be patient. (Experimental version available for testing.)

Summary Output A Large TeX File Without Compiling

Description

When using datatool for mail-merge purposes, could you enable the output of a TEX file pre-compilation? Since datatool goes to work as the file is being compiled, I understand why this may not be possible.

Ultimately my goal is to use knitr to call R for the graphics and final compilation. I am generating reports on each of the 50 states and I would like to perform statistical analyses and produce professional pdfs in 1-step. In this way, updates to each of the 50 lines of my CSV file could immediately be incorporated into a polished pdf.

MWE

No mwe.tex

Evaluation

I'm sorry, I don't think that's possible. I think a more efficient approach would be to write a script that reads the CSV file and creates the TeX file with the appropriate information including all the statistical analysis.
