Description

in German, alwas a dot is used as date separator.

Therefore, in datetime2-german.ldf

\newcommand*{\DTMgermandatesep}{/}
hast to be changed to
\newcommand*{\DTMgermandatesep}{.}

Evaluation

This is a bug in the datetime2-german module, not in the datetime2 package, so I have to close this as not a bug in datetime2. You need to report the bug to the maintainer of the datetime2-german module.
