Summary Setting curr file breaks compilation with images

Thank you for providing the jmlr package!

This code fails to compile to a PDF in TeX Live 2023 (it works in 2022), which breaks the compilation of older documents that use this set@curr@file snippet: 

\documentclass[pmlr]{jmlr}

\makeatletter
\def\set@curr@file#1{\def\@curr@file{#1}}
\makeatother

\begin{document}

\begin{figure}[!t]
\includegraphics[width=1\textwidth]{myimage.png}
\end{figure}

\end{document}
Without the figure environment, it compiles but without any images.
