Summary:sorry we broke flowfram with 2015 latex release


from 2015 latex has a new double column float implementation (previously in fixltx2e) which keeps figure* and figure in the same list, distinguished by 2-col figures having a depth of 1sp the redefinition of \@dblfloatplacement loses the 1sp and things go wrong (see the image in the report) seems like just adding \def\f@depth{1sp} fixes it.

Thank you! I've been trying to work out why my new LaTeX book went wonky with TL2015, but hadn't been able to narrow it down to a mwe!
